Welcome to ConvergenceWorship.org. Convergence Worship is the site for worship resources, music, articles and biblical, theological and practical insights and discussion for what is being described as "convergence worship", or "ancient-future" worship.
The "Convergence Movement" began as a broad, grassroots movement of spiritual renewal in the late 80's as a fresh conception of the essential nature of the Church as the converging, or coming together, of the three main streams of Christian faith and tradition. These streams or expressions of Christianity have been identified by many, both at the academic and practitioner levels, as comprising the Evangelical, the Charismatic/Pentecostal and the Liturgical/Sacramental elements of Christianity that originally emerged out of the early Jewish Christian context recorded in the ministry of Jesus Christ and the Book of Acts.

The Convergence Movement article was originally published in Dr. Robert Webber's watershed 8 volume series on Christian worship called, "The Complete Library of Christian Worship", which featured contributors from over 35 different denominations from the academic/theological, biblical scholarship, pastoral and worship director perspectives.
We at Convergence Worship are excited pioneers and explorers of spiritual treasures old and new encountered through relationship with our Living Lord, one other and His people through history. Rather than being entrenched in religion, we seek a life of worship, devotion and faith together anchored in the mysterious and supernatural power and love of God experienced in community in a "worship way of life", spilling over into all aspects of our daily lives.
We welcome you to join us on the journey as we seek to know, follow, worship and bear witness in fresh ways to the Lord Jesus Christ and His transforming love and as we learn together to draw upon the rich and vast spiritual treasures God has deposited into the lives and experience of His people from every stream in their pilgrimage through history. We consider ourselves as friends and family on a common journey and quest of spiritual discovery and renewal rooted in the ancient faith revealed in the incarnation of the Divine Creator of all in His Son Jesus Christ and moving forward in relevant and fresh ways into the 21st century. We are rooted in eternity and at work in history!
